What’s been happening? The #UPElections! That is if you live in UP.
Elections can be overwhelming for the common folks like me. Similar selfies, with similar captions and pointed fingers flood the internet.
Exhausting political arguments, that turn everyone red and fuming, leave little time to do anything else. So it feels like you have been climbing Mount Everest when you really have been just having lunch.
To me, this week felt like a massive climb. For today’s post, I decided to do a rundown of things I have been doing, aside from voting.
1) Turning a child into Minnie Mouse:
As I don’t a have a child of my own, I borrowed one from someone. This one came with a lot of excitement which is vital for the operation. Otherwise, the child will not sit still enough for you to paint on her. I recreated a look by Charisma Star. (Link here). Ofcourse I did a terrible job but fortunately, kids are easy to please.
(Pssst, she’s convinced she will become a major star after this post goes up).
2) Working with Lab Academia:
Lab Academia is a company of young educationists, who in their words, are “in the business of creating difference through innovations and new ideas”. I had the opportunity to work with them on a Literary Event ‘Lit-Up6′ that they are holding in the city. The event is set to include a book launch, a creative writing workshop, poetry slam and an authors’ meet with a group of new writers. I got to meet a lot of new people and it’s a blast working with them.
3) Reading the five people you meet in Heaven:
I cannot believe I didn’t read this before. Mitch Albom makes you feel so much better about life. His ‘Tuesdays With Morrie’ is one of my most loved books. Probably right up in the top three.
For purpose of appropriateness, I only included the fun things. There are other things that were either too boring (cleaning), or turned out too hideous (DIY quotes and frames I saw on Pinterest), or were plain cruel (the plot to crush the lizard, that keeps finding its way back into my room, to death).
